Learn the basics of using sharp tools

15 British pounds
Witton Park, Blackburn

Service Description

Many Bushcraft and land managment tasks can be accomplished using a 3 basic tools: A knife, a saw and an axe. In this class you will learn how to use all 3 in a safe and effective manner. We will cover proper techniques for use, for maintenance and how to correctly choose PPE to fit the task and tool in use. We will also briefly discuss UK knife law and how this effects using and transporting sharp tools. In order to put all this into context, we will be harvesting material and processing it into a few different products that you may take away with you at the end. All kit including PPE will be provided for you during this course, if you have your own fixed blade knife or swiss army knife style multi-tool then feel free to bring this along to the session (please do not bring your own axes or saws to the session) however I will not be responsible for any injuries sustained due to poorly maintained, damaged or defective equipment that was not provided by myself. This class is open to those 16+, however anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an appropriate adult that is also attending the class. I feel that the outdoors should be accessible for everyone and strive to make my sessions inclusive, so if you feel that this class may be made more accessible to you then please get in touch and we can discuss how to accomodate your requirements.
